Leadership Profile:

Dr. Prathap C. Reddy

Dr. Prathap C Reddy, Founder-Chairman of the Apollo Hospitals Group, is the visionary architect of modern Indian healthcare. He is best described as a compassionate humanitarian who dedicated his life to bringing world-class healthcare within the economic and geographic reach of millions.

In 1983, Dr. Reddy embarked on an extraordinary journey by establishing Apollo Hospitals, which not only revolutionized healthcare in India but also pioneered the private healthcare industry in India. The Apollo model of care inspired many, and at present, over 300 other large, high-quality hospitals have elevated the quality of care in India, making it available at a tenth of the international cost and changing the way people in the country live and access healthcare.

To this day, despite his senior age, Dr. Reddy works tirelessly for more than 20 hours every single day to realize his vision of making world-class healthcare accessible to all.

Dr. Preetha Reddy

Dr. Preetha Reddy is the Executive Vice Chairperson of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited, where she plays a key role in enhancing clinical outcomes and improving patient satisfaction by collaborating with over 13,000 clinicians. She leads the Apollo Hospitals Educational Trust and actively engages with industry bodies and the Government of India to shape healthcare policies, including guiding the NABH accreditation process. A founding member of NATHEALTH, she served as its President in 2020-21 and is currently a member of the Governing Council of the International Hospital Federation. Dr. Preetha also serves on the board of Larsen & Toubro Limited and advises the Schulich School of Business.

Her dedication to healthcare and social causes is evident through her leadership in SACHi and the Total Health Foundation, along with her contributions to disaster relief efforts. In recognition of her work, she has received numerous accolades, including the Economic Times Businesswoman of the Year award and the FICCI Healthcare Personality of the Year award. Dr. Preetha holds a Bachelor’s in Science, a Master’s in Public Administration, and an honorary Doctor of Science degree from The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University.

Ms. Shobana Kamineni

Shobana Kamineni is a Promoter Director of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited and Executive Chairperson of Apollo Health Co Ltd and Apollo Pharmacies Ltd. She has spearheaded significant initiatives, including the development of three of the largest verticals within the Apollo Group and the leadership of India’s largest integrated digital healthcare platform, Apollo 24/7. She oversees Apollo Pharmacy, comprising over 6000+ stores nationwide, and was the founder and chairperson of Apollo Munich Health Insurance (divested to HDFC Ergo). Notably, she pioneered the establishment of a “Biobank,” recognized by Time Magazine among the top 10 ideas of the decade in Life Sciences.

As the first female President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in over a century, Shobana made history. Committed to global public health enhancement, she serves on the board and audit committee of Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND), focusing on diagnostic test development for poverty-related diseases. She founded ‘Billion Hearts Beating,’ an NGO promoting heart disease prevention in India.

Additionally, Shobana holds roles at the World Economic Forum (WEF), advocating for India’s workforce preparation for the Fourth Industrial Revolution and digital inclusion in healthcare.

Her achievements have earned her prestigious awards, including the Women Economic Forum’s ‘Businesswomen of the Decade’ and honorary doctorates from Bryant University, USA, and BML Munjal University, India.

A keen sportsperson, she has played national level squash, enjoys long distance cycling and adventure sports.

Dr. Sangita Reddy

Dr. Sangita Reddy is the Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited and a prominent global healthcare influencer. She currently chairs G20 Empower, driving empowerment and sustainable development initiatives worldwide. A strong advocate for healthcare innovation, Dr. Reddy has led pioneering projects in AI, IoT, and digital health at Apollo Hospitals, resulting in numerous HiMSS-Elsevier ICT awards and Level-6 certifications.

In addition to her healthcare contributions, Dr. Reddy is a member of several high-profile global organizations, including the World Economic Forum and the Technology Development Board of India. She has also played a key role in expanding healthcare access through initiatives like Apollo Reach and TeleHealth services.

Dr. Reddy’s social contributions extend to chairing Apollo Philanthropy, leading programs like Save a Child’s Heart Initiative (SAHI), and launching mobile clinics for NCD screening in underserved areas. She has received numerous accolades, including FICCI’s Women in Excellence Healthcare Award and the IWEC International Women Entrepreneur Award.

She holds a graduate degree in Science and has pursued post-graduate studies in Hospital Administration at Rutgers University, Harvard University, and the National University of Singapore.

Ms. Sindoori Reddy

Ms. Sindoori Reddy has extensive experience in various functional areas including corporate, hospital, institutional, industrial, and outdoor catering. She served as the Joint Managing Director at Apollo Sindoori Hotels Limited and has been serving as its Director since July 24, 2006.

She is also the Director of Faber Sindoori Management Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Apollo Sindoori Hotels Limited, specializing in delivering bio-medical services to healthcare providers. In addition, she serves as a Director of Olive Plus Twist Avenues Private Ltd (formerly known as Olive & Twist Hospitality Pvt Ltd), a subsidiary of Apollo Sindoori Hotels Limited that focuses on elite outdoor catering, convention centres, resto bars, restaurants, and event management.

Ms. Sindoori Reddy played a pivotal role in establishing and successfully running Apollo Children’s Hospital, Chennai.

Ms. Reddy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business and Finance from Pepperdine University, California, USA.

Mr. K. Vishweshwar Reddy

Mr. Konda Vishweshwar Reddy is an accomplished engineer, entrepreneur, and politician. He serves as a Member of Parliament in the 18th Lok Sabha, representing Chevella, Telangana. Notably, he is the only Indian Parliamentarian to be granted a US patent while serving as a Member of Parliament.

Professionally, Mr. Reddy has a strong engineering background. He worked as an adjunct faculty member at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and Essex County College, Newark. As a successful software entrepreneur, he founded Citadel Research & Solutions, a company specializing in engineering research and development, and was involved in the creation of several intellectual property rights.

Mr. Reddy’s professional experience includes serving as the CEO and Managing Director of GE MSIT at General Electric and as the CEO and Managing Director of Wipro HCIT at Wipro.

Dr. K Prabakar

Dr. Prabakar is an accomplished academic, leader, and pioneer in healthcare education and skilling. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Madras, a Master’s in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from MSSW, a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Chemistry, and has completed the Executive Management Program at IIM Bangalore. He is also a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from the Indian Statistical Institute.

Professionally, Dr. Prabakar has been with the Apollo Hospitals Group since 1986, holding various leadership roles. He served as the Corporate HR Head for the Hospitals Division, overseeing 32,000 employees until 2010. During his tenure, he made significant contributions to strategic business planning, re-engineering policies, and driving HR functions. He was instrumental in Apollo’s quality accreditation efforts, leading initiatives such as ISO Quality Systems Certifications, Joint Commission International Accreditation, NABH, and NABL, as well as McKinsey’s Apollo Way program.

In 2010, Dr. Prabakar transitioned from HR to healthcare education, where he founded Apollo MedSkills, the Group’s first skilling initiative, setting up training centers across multiple cities. He was a key member of the core committee that established The Apollo University in Chittoor, which began operations in 2021. His work in fostering a culture of continuous improvement led to the development of over 5,000 Lean Six Sigma professionals, including Master Black Belts, Black Belts, Green Belts, and Yellow Belts across the Apollo Hospitals Group.

Currently, Dr. Prabakar serves as a Visiting Professor for HRM and Operations Management at The Apollo University and has been a visiting faculty member at MSSW, LIBA, and the University of Madras.

Mr. B Bhaskar Reddy

B Bhaskar Reddy is a seasoned finance professional with over 30 years of experience in financial strategy, revenue growth, and risk management. He currently serves as Vice President of Finance & Accounts for Apollo Hospitals in Telangana and as Secretary of the Apollo Hospitals Education and Research Foundation (AHERF). His expertise lies in developing financial strategies that drive business growth while managing risks effectively.

In addition to his leadership at Apollo Hospitals, Mr. Reddy holds several key positions, including Director roles at Totem Advertising & Public Relations, Totem Travels, Kurnool Hospital Enterprise Limited, and Apollo Life Time Wellness Rx Limited. He also serves as the Managing Director of Apollo Health Resources Limited and is a Trust Member of Cure Foundation.

Mr. Atchyut Prasad Reddy

Mr. Atchyut Prasad Reddy is currently serving as the Managing Director of Family Health Plan Ltd and an Advisor to Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad. With over 14 years of expertise in Medical Informatics and Health Insurance operations, he has been instrumental in shaping healthcare strategies within these fields.

In addition to his current roles, Mr. Reddy has made significant contributions to the national insurance sector. He was a member of the National Insurance Advisory Council constituted by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDA) and has actively participated in the subcommittee on data collection and standardization, helping to advance the industry’s data practices.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Reddy gained extensive experience in operations and logistics within the manufacturing sector. He holds a postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, USA, further enhancing his strong technical and operational background.
